Brain Awareness Week (BAW) is a nationwide effort organized by the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives and the Society for Neuroscience to promote the public and personal benefits of brain research. The official week for the next BAW is March 16-22, 2020, but any week is a good time to get involved.
Things are starting to change dramatically in our area due to the virus. The run on the toilet paper is funny and scary at the same time. People are starting to panic about many other items and I believe it’s just going to get worse before it gets better.
This is why I believe humor is going to be the most important coping tool in dealing and coping with this virus. After you stop crying, you have to do something else that might as well be a laugh.
(Here’s a personal thought based on my own personal experience.) Thinking about this Coronavirus and how it is forcing us to self-isolate: I truly believe that no other community is more geared to surviving and thriving in the type of environment then people with mental health diagnoses. For many of us, our self-isolation is just part of our diagnosis symptomatology.
